The European Master Certification Program (EMC) is a Belgium Company, EMC International bvba. The Shareholders are comprised of Tomas De Bruyne, Hitomi Gilliam AIFD and Christi Lopez CFD EMC.
EMC is the brainchild of internationally renowned floral designers Tomas De Bruyne & Hitomi Gilliam. With over 60 years of industry experience bridging all continents, their knowledge and expertise is based on the most current insight from their joint global experience. Christi Lopez joined them in the company in 2017.
Tomas De Bruyne
Tomas De Bruyne from Belgium is one of the most sought after and respected international floral designer today. Tomas has authored 2 and co-authored 13 inspirational and educational books. He has presented and reached audiences at every corner of the continents with his talent and knowledge. Tomas has also been published in more than 60 magazines worldwide. Along with giving seminars and demonstrations he has been commissioned to work on many prestigious projects world-wide.
Hitomi Gilliam AIFD
Hitomi is an internationally renowned floral artist and an educator who has guest-designed throughout North America, Bermuda, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, India, Oman, Australia, New Zealand, England and Northern Ireland. She has authored 2 books and co-authored 5 others.
Christi Lopez CFD, EMC

Christi Lopez is a floral designer and business owner of 30 years in Washington, D.C area, as well as a graduate of EMC Cycle 3. She served as President and Board member of Middle Atlantic Florist’s Association as well as on the Teleflora DC/MD/VA Unit board. She leads the Business Management of EMC as well as participating as an EMC Mentor.
Julia Marie Schmitt AIFD, EMC

Julia is a floral designer and retail Flower shop owner from rural Missouri, USA. She is a graduate of EMC Cycle 2 and has been a member of the original EMC Team as well as part of the EMC Educational Team for the past 3 years. She wears many hats for EMC including Educational Coordinator, EMC North America Teaching Assistant and newly established EMC Public Relations Department Chair.

Beata is a wedding and event designer from Toronto, Canada A graduate from EMC Cycle 2, she is the Teaching Assistant for EMC India and EMC North America.
Agna Maertens EMC
Agna is a freelance designer from Belgium who has become a perennially published designer in European Floral magazines. A graduate from EMC Cycle 3, she is the Teaching Assistant for EMC Belgium, EMC China and EMC North America.
Keith Stanley EMC
Keith is a freelance designer from Washington, DC. A graduate from EMC Cycle 3, he is the newest Teaching Assistant for EMC.

Jennifer Baker EMC
Jennifer is a designer who owns an event company in Kansas, USA. A graduate from EMC Cycle 3, Jennifer, who has a great passion for morphology and all things nomenclature, is presently a member of the EMC Nomenclature Committee.
Thomas Spiess EMC
Thomas is a freelance designer and young European Trained Floral Artist from Zurich, Switzerland. A graduate from EMC Cycle 3, Thomas, with his expertise in the nuances of modern nomenclature, is presently a member of the EMC Nomenclature Committee.
